Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested two security guards mistakenly employed by a popular Church for allegedly conspiring with robbers to loot the church at night.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the popular Gloryplus International Church located at Kudirat Abiola Way, by Olusosun Bus Stop, Ojota, Lagos.

The suspects, Esekwe John, 54 and Ugochukwu Ndubuisi, 47, have been arrested and charged before the Court for conspiracy and stealing.

The Police alleged that they conspired with others at large to cart away the church musical equipment including keyboard and mixer worth N3m and escaped.

When the church management went there in the morning and saw that the equipment was no longer there, they asked the guards what happened but they were unable to explain what happened despite the fact they claimed they were at the church.

The matter was then reported to the Police at Area F Command, Ikeja and they were arrested. After interrogation, they were charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
They pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court for a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. J.A. Adegun, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum while the case was adjourned to a new date for mention.
However, the defendants were remanded in correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
