A couple has landed in Police net after conspiring and allegedly murdering a 26-year old lady, cutting her body in pieces and selling her body parts for money ritual purposes in Ogun State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the couple, Mr. Taiwo Olutufese Ajalorun and his wife, Salawa Oyenusi Ajalorun, who had been carrying out their illicit business for some time, was among the suspects paraded by the Ogun State Command over the alleged dastardly act.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed that the suspects were in Police custody undergoing interrogation over the alleged offence.
He explained that the suspects including six others were among the gang of human body part sellers and buyers, who allegedly cut short the life of a 26-year old mother of two, Oyindamola Adeyemi, at Ijebu-Ode area of the state.
“It was another case of man’s inhumanity to fellow human because the suspects specialised in killing and selling of human body parts to ritualists.”
“The suspects including a couple Taiwo Olutufese Ajalorun and Salawa Oyenusi Ajalorun, have been carrying out their illicit act successfully for some time but the last straw that broke the camel’s back happened on 28th December, 2022, when a 26 year old lady, Oyindamola Adeyemi, was allegedly killed by Taiwo Ajalorun and Lukman Oladele.”
“The proper notification of the Police by the victim’s friend that a friend was missing, the discovery of the dismembered body and the efforts of the Policemen at Obalende Division of Ijebu Ode led to their arrest with the victim’s phone and body parts.”
The suspects confessed that they sold the leg of the deceased at the rate of N30, 000 while her heart was sold at the rate of N50,000 and other parts for an undisclosed amount.
“After killing her, they cut off her head, legs and two hands, which they sold to their ready made buyers to be used for money-making rituals.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the Homicide Section of the State CIID for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
SP Oyeyemi appreciated the support of residents by providing information. He urged them to continue in this direction noting that the Police Command will not allow criminals to hibernate in Ogun State.
The suspects risk life imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court for murder under the Criminal Law of the State.
However, that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
