A 29-year old housewife, Queen and her husband, Promise Ndunofit, 32, have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly setting their landlord’s house on fire while fighting over suspicion of husband’s adultery.

During the fight, the wife, Queen, was alleged to have taken petroleum substance and set the properties in their apartment ablaze. While their properties were burning, the fire spread to other apartments and damaged most part of the building, which eventually ended the fight.

They however, pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu, granted the wife bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, while the husband was admitted on bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till 29th August, 2023, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
