How Kidnappers Abducted 2 Chinese & Collected N30m Ransom

Police operatives from Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, have arrested three suspected cultists who resorted to armed robbery and kidnapping for allegedly kidnapping two Chinese Nationals and collected N30m ransom for their release in Ogun State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects: Damilare Babatunde 30, a.k.a. Drey, Fatai Ishola, 25 and Segun Hammed, 28, a.k.a. Opa were arrested at Sabo Hausa Market Eleweran, Abeokuta while planning a robbery operation.
They were said to have successfully embarked on several armed robbery operation and kidnapping before they were arrested by the Police detectives.
They ran out of luck after the AIG,  Adegoke Fayoade, received intelligence information and detailed his team of detectives from the Zonal Dragon Squad 2  to investigate and bring the suspects to book and it paid off as they were busted and arrested.
This was disclosed by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer,  CSP Ayuba Umma, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects now in custody undergoing interrogation over their alleged conduct.
She stated:
“Intelligence at the disposal of the AIG has it that there is a syndicate of suspected armed robbers/AIYE cult members, who specialized in robbing motorcycle riders and hijacking cement trucks along Onigbedu in Ewekoro L.G.A of Ogun State.
“The AIG Fayoade directed his team of detectives to move into action and investigate to bring the gang to book and it eventually paid off “
“On 08/05/2025 three (3) suspects: Damilare Babatunde ‘m’ aged 30yrs (a.k.a. Drey), Fatai Ishola ‘m’ aged 25yrs, Segun Hammed ‘m’ aged 28yrs (a.k.a. Opa) were arrested at Sabo Hausa Market Eleweran, Abeokuta while planning a robbery operation.The arrest of the three suspects led to the arrest of one Abiodun Olanrewaju ‘m’ aged 45yrs in his hideout at Onigbedu, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The arrested suspects confessed to taking part in the hijack of cement laden trucks along Onigbedu Area of Ewekoro in Ogun State.”
In the course of investigation, the suspects confessed to kidnapping two Chinese nationals on 11th of August, 2024 (Liang Ding Jia ‘m’ and Chen Wen Guang ‘m’) and receiving a total sum of Thirty Million Naira (N30,000,000.00k) as ransom for their release.”
“The following items were recovered from the suspects: One (1) locally made Pistol, Three (3) Life cartridges, Two (2) Unregistered Bajaj Motorcycles and One (1) Berreta Pistol with Thirteen (13) Live Ammunition. Meanwhile, Three Hundred Thousand Naira N300,000.00k cash, one iPhone 7+, one small Tecno Phone and Opay Digital Service & UBA ATM cards made away with in the robbery operation are said to be in possession of a suspect at large.”
“Investigation is ongoing and efforts have been intensified to arrest other suspects at large and recover all exhibits. Thereafter, the suspects will be charged to Court upon completion of investigations” the Zonal PRO stated.
