How Man, 22, Hacked Into Yafun Fafun Network & Used N9.7m Data Recharge Cards

A 22-year old man, Emmanuel Alade, has allegedly thrown an online network company, known as Yafun Fafun into confusion as he was said to have used different data recharge cards worth over N9.747m for the past seven months in Oyo State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Alade, was using different networks including MTN, Glo and Airtel while the management was unable to trace it and was having sales shortages for those months until recently when he was arrested by the Police.
He has been charged before Iyaganku Magistrate Court, Ibadan, for the alleged network data fraud, conspiracy and stealing under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The prosecutor, Supol Anthony Igori, told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offences between January and July, at Badeku area, Ibadan, before he was eventually tracked and arrested by the Police.
The prosecutor, Igori, said that the defendant hacked into the company’s online private page, stole MTN, Glo and Airtel cards and made use of the company’s data worth N9, 747, 050.
He said the offences contravened Sections 517 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Olaolu Olanipekun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 26th November, 2024, for hearing while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
