How Man, 31, Knocked Off Rival’s 2 Teeth With Stone During Public Brawl

A 31-year old man, Tunde Azeez, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly knocking off his rival, Adebayo Adebowale’s two teeth with stone, which caused permanent injury during public fight. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 1st August, 2023, at Kara Abbatior Market, Oko-Oba area of Lagos.
The Police did not disclose the cause of what led to the complainant losing his teeth.
The duo was said to have had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter, which led to hot exchange of words and later degenerated to fighting. And in the process, the suspect used a stone to knock off his teeth.
The matter was reported to the Police at Abbatior Division. The suspect was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Rachael Williams, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. F.O. Amen, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood, tax payment and addresses verified by the the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
