How Ministry Of Solid Minerals Turned Abandoned Mines Into Productive Land

The Ministry of Solid Minerals has reclaimed and rehabilitated several high-risk abandoned mines, turning them into productive land. These efforts improve safety and provide opportunities for new economic activities and environmental restoration in affected areas. 
 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that according to available records, the Ministry’s efforts have led to the approval of 65 Environmental Protection and Rehabilitation Programme reports, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
These approvals are crucial for sustainable mining practices and protecting Nigeria’s natural heritage.
In collaboration with the Africa Finance Corporation, the Ministry has launched a Project Development Facility to support early-stage mineral exploration.
This initiative provides crucial funding and technical assistance to promising projects, ensuring their success.
