How Police Busted Members Of ‘One Chance Robbery’ Syndicate During Operation

Operatives from the Plateau State Command have arrested three ‘one chance’ robbery suspects, Umar Abu, Peter Ezekiel and Kelvin Monday,  at Rantya roundabout while attempting to steal the mobile phone of one of their victims while disguising as commercial tricycle riders.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, who stated that the suspects hypnotised the victims before robbing them of their belongings.
“The Plateau State Command under the able leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbemiga Emmanuel Adesina, has continued to make giant strides in its efforts at curbing the activities of “One-Chance” syndicates across the State,” the statement read.
“In a latest development, our Surveillance Team attached to Rantya division have arrested three (3) suspects in connection to a case of phone snatching using tricycle, popularly called “Keke Napep” in their One Chance operation.”On the 29th day of August 2024 at about 2pm, the following suspects, one Umar Abu, Peter Ezekiel and Kelvin Monday, all male were arrested at Rantya roundabout while attempting to make away with the mobile phone of one of their victims.
Upon interviewing the suspects, they all confessed to being members of a One Chance syndicate which specialises in snatching people’s belongings around the Rantya axis.”
“They also revealed that this incident is one of the many in which they have hypnotized innocent citizens and robbed them of their belongings, especially mobile phones.”
“The suspects further revealed that they lure their victims into boarding their tricycle under the pretence of being commercial riders, after which they eventually pick the targeted property without being spotted, until yesterday when the dice did not roll in their favour.”
Exhibits recovered from the suspects included one Android phone and the tricycle with PT number:17437.
CP Adesina assured all citizens of Plateau State that the Command under his watch, will continue to do everything within the ambit of its constitutional powers to ensure that all residents of Plateau State are safe.
He further pledged his commitment to sustaining the peace currently being enjoyed on the Plateau.
