A couple, Chucks David and his wife, Amaka David, has landed in trouble for allegedly displaying their boxing prowess by raining blows on three school teachers for correcting their child over lateness at the school premises in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Shalom Heritage School, Abiodun Mohammed Street, Powerline area of Idimu.
The two were alleged to have gone to the school in the morning at about 8.30am and disrupted activities in the school by attacking the victims, Gbenga Samuel and two other teachers, for allegedly beating their child for coming late to the school.
After their child told them that the teachers punished them for coming late to school, consequently, they went inside the school, grabbed the teachers and attacked them by hitting their faces with fist blows before they were later rescued from them.
The matter was reported to the Police and they were arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over their conduct.
While being interrogated by the Police, they reportedly told the officers that the teachers beat their child and they were not comfortable with it.
The Police found them culpable and subsequently charged them before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conspiracy and assault, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court.
They pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre pending when they will perfect their bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 14th November, 2022, for mention.
