Buruj Football Club Prodigy, Samson Ubong, went on a trial of four weeks with Spanish side, Berja CF. He did excellently and got a pre-contract, which will be activated from January to continue his development into a full blown professional.

The striker shared his experience and concluded, “I can’t wait to return in December”.

“I remember the day our CEO told me I will be going to Spain for a trial with Berja CF. It was like a dream, my heart was beating faster than usual” Ubong said.

“The day I boarded the airplane from MMIA Lagos en route Spain was the day I stopped dreaming and began to live my dream and realise dreams could come truly.”

When asked how he was able to impress at the club and get a pre-contract, Ubong responded, “That’s the easiest thing. I was determined because I know where I am coming from and I can’t afford not to give my best because it may be the last opportunity for me to play in Europe”.

The enthusiastic striker answered quickly when asked how he is looking forward to returning to Spain in December for the activation of the pre-contract and continuing his development at the club, “I can’t wait to go back and shine. I have been training to keep fit and be at my prime. And I must thank the CEO of Buruj Football Academy for his effort to have come this far”.

The CEO, Waheed Salaudeen, confirmed that five more players of the club are about dotting their papers and will be leaving the shores of the country for different destinations in Europe by December 2024.

The Buruj FC captain and number one goalkeeper, Edet Inyang, who shone like a million star at the 2024 NLO, alongside Quadri Garuba , Sola Abimbola , Habeeb Ayobami, and Farouk Ogunbiyi, are all due to leave Nigeria by December.
