There was a twist in the case of a 78-year old landlord, Ajibade Komolafe, who allegedly defiled his tenant’s 3-year old daughter in Akure, Ondo State, as he claimed it was not possible because he no longer experienced erections at the time he was alleged to have defiled the victim because of his age.
PMEXPRESS reports that the embattled landlord stated so at the resumed hearing on Tuesday and the medical report presented before the Court stated that he had medical condition known as vasectomy erectile dysfunction.
Thus, the trial judge ordered that the defendant, Komolafe, should be taken to the General Hospital to examine some controversies in his report that he did not have penis erection.
The septuagenarian, Komolafe, was arraigned before the Ondo State Family Court sitting in Akure on the two count-charge of rape and defilement.
The mother of the victim, Mrs. Bolaji Akomolafe, stated that the trial Court stated during trial that “all the investigation done had confirmed that there was penetration and not fingering.
“Actually we were told my daughter was fingered” she said.
She explained that this was because of some contradictions in a medical report presented by the Police prosecutor, which came from a private hospital that claimed that there was vasectomy on the defendant and therefore, he cannot ejaculate.
“So the Court ordered that the Baba (defendant) should be taken to a surgeon to confirm if he cannot have erection as the report claimed.”
The matter was further adjourned till 25th July, 2024, for the result of the medical report to determine if the defendant had erectile dysfunction or not as the doctor’s report stated.
Pa Komolafe was arrested and charged before the Court for allegedly committing the alleged offence on 13th May, 2024, at No. 19 Oyejola Street, High School area of Akure, Ondo State. He was said to have committed the offence when the victim’s parents were not around but was caught by their neighbours, who informed her parents.
The matter was reported to the Police at A Division Akure and he was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the alleged conduct.
He was later charged before the Court after the alleged failed attempt by the Police to force the victim’s mother to accept a “settlement” from the landlord and close the case.
