Igando Agog As Prince Gas Cup Finals Hold On Sunday
Attention will be shifted to Igando Palace playground, Alimosho, Lagos on Sunday when Free To Live Football Club confront Future Stars Football Club in the final of Prince Gas Soccer Championship.
To reach the final stage, Free To Live FC defeated Adebayo FC 3-2 on penalty shootout after 2-2 at the regulation time when Future Stars shocked Samjason FC 5-4 on penalty shootout after barren draw at full time.
Match coordinator, Prince Sulaiman Gbadamosi expressed gratitude to God for the success of the competition. He revealed that this year’s edition is better than previous editions in terms of organization, officiating and standard of the participating teams.
“We thank the Almighty Allah for the success we have recorded in this year’s edition. Throughout the tournament, there was no cases of player’s injuries, no violence during and after the games played. I am happy that all the teams are treated equally without fear of favour from any official. As we are preparing for the final, I wish all the teams best of luck in their outings,” he said.
Gbadamosi urged soccer fans to shun violence and embrace peace during the final ceremony, adding that any fan who causes trouble would be disciplined accordingly. He however called on residents of Igando and its environs to come out in large numbers to cheer the teams to victory.
In the U-15 category, New Stars FC would face IJC FC in the closing ceremony on Sunday. Prize money, sets of jerseys and other gift items would be given to champions and outstanding players.
