Igbo Community leaders in Lagos have carpeted the inauguration of a new group founded by Chief Joe Igbokwe known as Ndigbo in APC and directed the Igbo to disassociate themselves from the group as they are set to sanction members for insubordination and constituting nuisance in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Eze Ndigbo and chairman of the the traditional rulers in Lagos, Eze Christian C Nwachukwu on behalf of igbo community in the State.

In a release yesterday, Eze Nwachukwu noted that Hon. Jude Idimogu was made the Apex leader of Igbo Community in Lagos APC comprising the 20 Local Government, and 37 LCDAs in the State and stated that any other group formed under greed and selfishness outside the leadership of Hon. Idimogu is null and void and the Party leaders should note the declaration by the Igbo Community.
Eze Nwachukwu, who is also known as Ochiagha, said that the decision to replace Igbokwe with Idimogu on 14th May, 2020, at the Ohanaeze Secretariat in Surulere, was in the interest of Igbo in the State.
He explained that Igbokwe had been in the saddle of leadership for 21 years which brought untold neglect of Igbo in the Local Governments and the suspicion that Ndigbo were against APC in the State during elections.
Eze Nwachukwu said that the decision was carefully taken and since Hon. Idimogu took over, he has started reaching out to Igbo in the local Governments across the state. He explained that Igbokwe is in the position he occupies in the State based on the mandate of the same Igbo Community, who had taken decision to replace him with Hon. Idimogu and the decision is binding on him.
“The Igbo leaders and critical stakeholders have spoken and members must abide by the decision, otherwise we will sanction those behind the group founded out of greed.”
In his press statement, Eze Nwachukwu said, “Igbo sons and daughters in APC, you will recall on 14th May, 2020, Igbo community leaders in all the Local Governments reviewed our community relationship and operations in the State in the last 21 years. We came to conclusion that APC leaders and indigenes complained that Igbo voted against the party”.”After careful investigation, we discovered that our former managers were not fair to the Party despite huge support by Party to mobilize the Igbo in the Local Governments during elections.”
“In the well attended meeting by the stakeholders, the Igbo Community removed Igbokwe and replaced him with Hon. Idimogu as the Apex leader with mandate to restructure the Igbo in APC based on full participation in the Wards and Local Government level in the State and report back to the Igbo ethnic leaders for progress.””It is shameful for Igbokwe for what he was unable to do 21 years ago, now calling people to distribute ranks and positions to greedy community members knowing fully that he has no such power to do so.”
“The only person that has such power to do so is Hon Idimogu. Therefore, the inauguration and appointment by Joe Igbokwe is null and void, which has no effect and the public and party leaders should take note” Eze Nwachukwu said.
He said the Igbo community leaders will soon call a meeting of stakeholders from the whole Local Governments for formations and mobilization in all the Local Governments Areas in the State.
