A human rights activist and the National President, Ambassadors of Peace and Enlightenment (APEF), Comrade Saviour Iche, has blasted the Igbo leaders and described them as shameless set of people.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Comrade Saviour Iche stated this on the heels of  the judgment which handed Nnamdi Kanu life imprisonment sentence.
Comrade Ichie said the so called Igbo leaders have turned themselves into slaves who cannot speak for the Igbo because they have sold themselves shamelessly.
He noted that leaders from other tribes are busy protecting the interests of their people unlike the Igbo leaders who are silent in the midst of marginalization and intimidation of Igbo people in Nigeria.
“The painful thing is that those self acclaimed Igbo leaders in Government, National Assembly, traditional rulers and other influential sectors of the economy, have compromised so much to the extent that they can’t speak for Ndigbo because of commitment.
Iche asked rhetorically if those Igbo leaders can mention one single thing any of them have achieved for Ndigbo in Nigeria.
“Ndigbo are passing through some pains, harassment and intimidation and nobody would speak for them and yet some claim that they are Igbo leaders. The leaders have turned deaf and dumb over the predicament of Nnamdi Kanu because of compromise.”
He stated that there is nothing the young people will learn from the leaders unlike other tribes like Yoruba and Hausa whose leaders speak and protect their interests.
Iche advised the leaders to retract their steps and have a change of attitude because they no longer command respect while other tribes are mocking them because of their conduct in the State.
He also noted that most Igbo leaders are afraid to call for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because they have compromised and cannot speak to the authorities because of selfish interests.
He stated that it is rather unfortunate that it is people from another tribes that are mobilizing and calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu while the so called Igbo leaders keep silent because of committment.
Comrade Iche noted that some so called Igbo leaders are happy and celebrating that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was sentenced to life imprisonment. He wondered why an Igbo man will be happy, if not that they are jealous, intimidated, threatened and wants Nnamdi Kanu to rotten in prison because they are afraid of his popularity of as a true Igbo leader.
“Some of those parading themselves as Igbo leaders are a disgrace to the people, ex-convicts and betrayals who have sold their conscience to work against the interest of Ndigbo and yet claim to be Igbo leaders. The day of reckoning will come and Ndigbo will know their true leaders ” Iche stated.
