The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, Dr Jonathan Nnaji, has confirmed Eze Prosper Chukwaka as the authentic Ezendigbo in Amuwo Odofin LGA and disowned Eze Augustine Ojukwu as even Ezendigbo in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed  by the BOT Chairman of Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, Dr Jonathan Nnaji, in his office in Surulere, Lagos.
He explained that from the BOT records,  the name of Eze Ojukwu was not there as Ezendigbo anywhere in the State and as such he cannot claim to be Ezendigbo in any part of Lagos State.
He stated that the Igbo Speaking Community duly crowned Eze Chukwuka as Ezendigbo and the BOT has the record of his Ezeship because he was duly recognized as Eze in Lagos State.
Dr Nnaji also explained that the issue of Ezeship in Diaspora has a procedure and the Igbo Speaking Community has been following the same pattern of crowning Eze as was done in Igbo land so that the children will not be misled from knowing the real Igbo culture and tradition on how Eze is been crowned.
He stated that it is the Community that crowns Ezendigbo and not Ohanaeze Ndigbo as some Igbo were being misled to believe, stating that it was the same way that the Igbo Speaking Community has been following in crowning Ezendigbo that Eze Prosper Chukwaka was also crowned Ezendigbo in Lagos State.
In the same vein, the President General of Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, Chief Sunday Udeh, confirmed that Eze Prosper Chukwuka was duly crowned Ezendigbo in Lagos State and the certificate was issued to him having met all the requirements in line with the Constitution of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State.
He explained that the process, which Igbo Speaking Community uses to crown any Eze is a rigorous process, which included thorough screening and the candidate must bring letter of recognition and commendations from the traditional ruler of his home town before such a person will be considered to be crowned as Ezendigbo.
Chief Udeh explained that before the Igbo Speaking Community crowned Eze Chukwuka as Ezendigbo, he went through the process including bringing letter of recognition from his traditional ruler.
Udeh clarified that on the heels of some publication that Eze Chukwuka was not recognized as Ezendigbo in Lagos State. He warned those spreading such malicious statement to desist because he is the authentic Ezendigbo crowned in Amuwo Odofin LGA.
The declarations by the Igbo Speaking Community BOT Chairman,  Dr Nnaji and President General, Chief Udeh, may have ended the controversy over who is the authentic Ezendigbo in Amuwo Odofin LGA as the Eze Chukwuka has been confirmed by the Community.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Chukwuka has since accepted the responsibility and has been busy empowering the people in the Amuwo Odofin LGA through various empowerment programmes.
