IGP IRT Rescues Victim, Arrests Kidnappers

The IGP Intelligence Response Team, IRT, today successfully rescued Alhaji Musa Umar Daura Magajin Garin Daura Katsina State, who was kidnapped on 1st May, 2019, in his home town Daura, Katsina State.

In line with the Directives Of IGP Adamu  Mohd, IRT Operatives led by DCP Abba Kyari, conducted 6 weeks unrelenting follow up together with OC SIB Kaduna state and OC SIB Niger State. High level Intelligence led operations were conducted in Kaduna, Bauchi, Niger, Katsina, Katsina and Kogi States, which resulted to the arrest of 11 of the terrorists/kidnappers including the overall gang leader and rescue of the victim in Panshakara area of Kano City on Tuesday 2nd July, 2019, by 0700hrs.

One of the terrorists/kidnappers was killed during the rescue operation assisted by CP Kano State, DC Operations Kano State, ACP Operation Kano State, OC SARS Kano State, PMF and other Police Units who assisted IRT in subduing and overpowering the kidnappers which enabled the successful rescue of the victim.

Several AK47 rifles and ammunitions were recovered and some of the kidnappers were also arrested alive.
