Having redefined the game of Table Soccer in Nigeria, Bolanle Igure, a  football enthusiast and the organiser of 1st Abuja Table Soccer Tournament has said his target is to make the game national and to also feature at the Olympics.

According to Igure, he grew up as a kid playing the game. It was a very popular and unique game played on a surface , but the modernised Table Soccer is made to be played easily between two  contenders, which can be played indoor or outdoor as the case may be.

“I just want to refresh the childhood memories of Table soccer , the one we played as kids was quite different from the modernised one with a kit and play between two individuals,” Igure began.

“The game can be played between father and son, brothers and friends and it can also be played like a tournament as being witnessed now in Abuja,” he said further .

He added : ” My target is to make the game popular not just in Nigeria , but all over the world to the extent that it can be taken to the Olympics and be made one of the indoor games at the Olympics.”

There is a prize money attached to the 1st Abuja Table Soccer tournament as the winner in the Senior category will smile home with N50,000.00 while  winner in the Junior category will smile home with N25,000.00
