Posted on January 20, 2025

Igwe Alfred Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, has congratulated Igwe Chidubem Iweka, the traditional ruler of Obosi (Eze Obosi) on his appointment as Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council.

Igwe Achebe, in his congratulatory message made available to newsmen by Chief Osita Anionwu, his Chief of Staff, pledged his support and encouragement to enable him succeed.

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo on 18th January, 2025, appointed Eze Iweka as Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council to replace Igwe Achebe, whose leadership was dissolved in January 2024.

Igwe Achebe said he was unavoidably absent at the meeting where he was appointed due to a clash with an earlier scheduled event outside Anambra.

According to him, ‘Your Majesty, Eze Iweka III, congratulations on your appointment today as Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council”.

“As Mr. Governor told me, your appointment was based on extensive consultation, which becomes your mandate to lead the TRC on a solid foundation.”

“As your predecessor, I offer my full support and encouragement to you always in your capacity as chairman.”

“I was unavoidably absent at today’s meeting due to a clash with a prior commitment in Lagos, of which Mr. Governor was aware.”

“I wish you very well!”
