Ikeja Constituency 2: Hon Kasunmu Secures APC Ticket

The lawmaker representing Ikeja Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, ARK, has won the APC ticket in the just concluded Party Primaries. 

With this victory, the coast is now clear for Hon Kasunmu to compete for a third term in the elections set to hold in 2023.

 

Announcing the result, the Returning Officer, Mr. Ewosho Oladunjoye, declared Hon. Adedamola Kasunmu the winner of the primaries having polled 20 votes from 25 expected delegates votes.

Giving the breakdown, he said that Hon. Adedamola Kasunmu scored 20 votes, Mrs. Abimbola Oshikoya scored two votes, Engr  Adefemi Kamaldeen one vote and two invalid votes.

The Returning Officer, Oladunjoye, said that the process was peaceful, free and fair and it was conducted under the heavy presence of security personnel under the watch of the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Addressing journalists, Hon Kasunmu dedicated his victory to God and also thanked the delegates for their support and ensuring victory at the Primary election.

“I thank all the party leaders, party faithful and the people of Ikeja Constituency 2 for standing by me. I promise not to let them down. There will be more dividends of democracy to our people, quality representation and more service to the people” he said.

Kasunmu urged other aspirants to join hands to lift the Constituency to the next level.

“In APC, there is no winner or loser, we are all one” he concluded.
