There was a mild drama in Court after a housewife told her husband that she was tired of him and did not want to continue with the marriage any longer asking the Court to dissolved their marriage.
However, her husband objected against her claims and insisted that she will not leave because he still loved her and wanted the marriage to continue.
The housewife, Safiya Muhammad, had file a suit against her husband, Salisu Saidu, that she was tired of their boring marriage before the Shari’a Court sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna, to divorce him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the embattled woman alleged that her husband abandoned her and their two children for over one year and there was no need to continue to stay with him as his wife because she no longer loves him.
The embittered woman told the Court that she travelled to Kogi State to treat an undisclosed illness she had been suffering from for some time but her husband, who failed to visit her throughout the period she was receiving the treatment, never showed any concern that she was his wife.
“Even before I left, he used to beat me and did not take care of me and the children. I am tired, I want a divorce,” she said.
On his part, the man denied abusing his wife saying he loved her and was trying his best to cater for the family.
He said that the complainant left their matrimonial home without his permission but he did not seek divorce and wanted her back.
The Presiding Judge, Malam Rilwanu Kyaudai, adjourned the case till 5th September, 2022, for the complainant to present witnesses to her claim of being abused and neglected by her husband.
