It is with the deepest sense of humility that Orlu Diocese of the Anglican Communion is joining the Chyna Iwuanyanwu family in Amuzi village, Dim Na Nume Isu Autonomous Community, Nwangele LGA, Imo State, to thank the Almighty God, who laid it in the heart of His beloved son, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu KSC, to religiously complete and donate a parsonage to the New Covenant Church for a place of prayer, meditation and sober reflection. And in doing this, he has acknowledged that “our lifting comes in our giving”.
Giving, in the Christendom, is an expression of our gratitude, thankfulness and praise to God; the giver of all good things. Therefore, it comes from a heart of worship that recognises everything we have and give already belongs to God.When you donate towards church building, development and evangelism, you are invariably making an eternal investment; in a place that will be filled with praise, prayer and discipleship, displaying the glory and wonder of God.
In fulfilment of his promise to the Anglican Diocese of Orlu and in fond memory of his late father, Chief (Sir.) Chyna Ignatius Iwuanyanwu, KSC, Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and member representing Nwangele Constituency, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, KSC, alongside his lovely wife Lady Adora Shirley Iwuanyanwu and a few family members; yesterday, Saturday, September 19, 2020; donated a befitting 4-bedroom state-of-the-art parsonage to the New Covenant Church Amuzi, Dim na Nume Autonomous Community in Nwangele LGA, Imo State.
This is coming barely five years after his late father, a respected community leader, careless giver, a philanthropist, business mogul; bridge builder and a Knight of St. Christopher in the Anglican Communion order, Chief (Sir.) Chyna Iwuanyanwu, KSC, whose religious bonhomie and leadership charisma were legendary as he singlehandedly erected and bequeathed a brand new Church to the Anglican Communion in his immediate Amuzi village for a place of worship and eventually laid foundation for the parsonage before his glorious demise.
A chip of the old block, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu (Mr. Capacity), in whom we see a man, agreeable, debonair and kind – hearted although with a dogged heart but humble spirit, with a most winning smile and most affable manner. In handing over the parsonage to the Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Orlu, Rt. Rev. Benjamin Chinedu Okeke MA, JP, for dedication, the State legislator thanked God for the grace of being used as a vessel of honour to build a personage where the clergy exercise their spiritual obligations while counseling a number of Church faithfuls.
While performing the religious dedication ritual, the Very Rt. Rev. BC. Okeke M.A, JP, in the company of the Emeritus Archbishop of the Diocese, Most Rev.Dr. B.C.I. Okoro, administered:
“This parsonage was built in loving memory of Chief Chyna Iwuanyanwu (Ugochinyere Mba) by the Rt. Hon. Amarachi Iwuanyanwu and dedicated by Rt. Rev’d Benjamin Chinedum Okereke M.A, JP (Lord Bishop , Diocese of Orlu) on this day, 19 September, 2020”.
Since then, it has been deluge of commendations, prayers and best wishes from among family members, friends, the Christian community and other well wishers; pouring in both online and offline as people called to salute his avowed commitment and resilience in living out his late father’s most cherished hobby of serving God and humanity through work of charity.
The parsonage dedication ceremony had in attendance , Chief Chinedu Ukadike, traditional Prime Minister of Dim Na Nume Autonomous Community, Chief Paul Duru, Director General of Nwangele Project among others.
Congratulations Mr. Capacity for fulfilling this promise made to the Christian community!
