Inauguration Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Political Forum Attracts Massive Crowd & Support For Tinubu And Sanwo-Olu

It was a grand atmosphere of pomp and pageantry at Calabar Hall, Surulere area of Lagos State on Sunday 16th October, 2022, as massive crowd converged to witness the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State led by the amiable President, Chief Solomon Aguene, perform the inauguration of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Political Forum and rally support for the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu for 2023 general elections.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Ndigbo across the Local Government areas of the state were there to witness the inauguration, which has been described as unprecedented since Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State was created.

Those in attendance included the President, Chief Aguene and his Executives, Igbo Council of Elders led by the first President of Ohanaeze, Lagos State, Chief John Uche, Chairman Supreme Council of Ezendigbo led by Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze and his Deputy, Eze Vincent Iwobi and other traditional rulers across the State.

The Lagos State Government, Gov Sanwo-Olu and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, were also fully represented.

Others in attendance included Ohanaeze Chairmen of 57 Local Government areas in the State, youths, market men and women, captains of Industry and Igbo in the entertainment industry, and members of various churches who came to witness the epoch event.

The crowd was so much and the security agencies had herculean task controlling the people as some were prevented from entering the venue of the event due to space.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Political Forum, which was inaugurated, had Chief Chris Ekwilo as the Chairman, Chief Babata Uche and Chief Smart Enyan as Deputy and Secretary respectively including others in various positions.

While inaugurating the Forum, Chief Aguene explained that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Political Forum has been in existence since 2017 during the tenure of late John Nzewi and what he has done was to reconstitute it and make it more effective for Igbo participation in politics in Lagos State.

He noted that the members of the Forum were carefully chosen comprising the Igbo political actors, who will work and mobilize the Igbo across the Local Government areas in Lagos State and reiterated the confidence he has in the Forum to deliver for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2023.

“I have no doubt that the Forum will deliver considering the caliber of people in the Committee and it was created because Ohanaeze is apolitical so that they will protect the interests of Ndigbo in Lagos State” Aguene stated.

Chief Aguene thanked the Igbo for reposing confidence in his leadership and noted that the crowd present at the event were Ndigbo and were not rented because the Igbo trust him.
He promised to continue to work for the interests of Ndigbo in Lagos State and promised that whatever share that is meant for Ndigbo from the Lagos State Government must surely get to them. Chief Aguene commissioned the Igbo Political Forum to move into action and mobilize the Igbo for the 2023 Elections in order to garner massive votes for Asiwaju Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu and all other APC candidates in Lagos State.

The event, which also witnessed displays by various dancing groups singing praises of Aguene and Ohanaeze Ndigbo, was spiced with the conferment of Prophetess Adaobi Orjiakor as the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Spiritual Mother, Lagos State.
