INEC Successfully Concludes Verification Of APGA’s NWC Membership
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded the revalidation and verification of political parties and their National Working Committees (NWC).
Yesterday, the 29th of January, 2024, Senior Officials of the Commission’s Election and Party Monitoring Team (EPM) led by Ms. Hauwa Habibu were at the National Headquarters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abuja to carry out this statutory exercise on the Sly Ezeokenwa led APGA NWC.
The exercise began In the morning with a brief meeting, and lasted for over 4 hours as the EPM team took time to scrutinize the Party and her NWC members in line with their statutory checklist. At the conclusion of the exercise, the Commission made satisfactory remarks commending APGA for being a law abiding party.
The National Chairman of APGA, Barr. Ezeokenwa Sly Jr appreciated the commission for carrying out successfully their routine revalidation and verification of political parties. He lauded the Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu led INEC for driving positive change through technological innovations. Ezeokenwa further stressed that APGA as a party will remain committed to the democratic process, hinting that the Party is preparing to update its manifesto to suit the realities of the 21st century.
The INEC revalidation and verification exercise is an annual event through which the commission authenticates the viability of political parties and the legal status of their NWC.
