Isolo Agog As Ate’s Cup Kicks Off At LSDPC Playground

 No fewer than 16 teams are expected to take part in the Ate’s Cup which begins on Tuesday at  LSDPC Estate football pitch, Isolo, Lagos.

In a fixtures released recently, the opening match would be between Olowu FC and J-Boy FC on Tuesday while   Fingers FC  tackle Sanyaolu on Wednesday .The teams are drawn in four group. Group A comprises Olowu FC, J. Boy FC, Satec FC and Power FC. Group B is made up of Finger FC, Sanyaolu FC, Oloke FC and Basitoy FC.

In Group C are Bouncing FC,Oyoyo FC, Fragile FC and King FC, while Group D consists of  Son FC, Adetutu FC, U-Sod FC and Challenge FC.

Chairman Organising Committee, Fuad Akintunde said the competition was put together to discover talents in Isolo and its environs. He said many players are not well known, while a competition of this magnitude would help such players to come to the limelight.

Akintunde popularly known as Ake explained that aside bringing players to the limelight, the tourney would also help football agents and local coaches both in the professional and amateur leagues in Nigeria to look into the players who are hungry for success.

“This tournament is going to be tough because many of the participating teams have football pedigree in Lagos State. We cannot wait to see the kick off of this tournament because all the participating teams are good to go places. As an organizer, we are going to bring competent referees and ensure that all the teams are treated equally,” he said.

Match coordinator, Ajibola Mufutau urged all the teams to play the game according to the rules, saying that any team violates the rules would be sanctioned accordingly.
