Veteran Nigerian actor and producer, Prince Jide Kosoko, has celebrated his long-time friend and former boss, Otunba Steve Ajose, popularly known as Steve Whose, on his conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy title, “Kiniun Onile of Oodua,” by His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife.

In an emotional tribute, Kosoko described Otunba Ajose’s recognition by the revered monarch as a fitting reward for a life defined by determination, grit, vision, and leadership, noting that the honour perfectly captures the essence of the man he has known for decades—both as a friend and as his boss.

“Your journey over the years has been one of determination, grit, and focus,” Kosoko wrote. “Your conferment of the title Kiniun Onile of Oodua by His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, is a confirmation of all I have always known about you in our years of relationship, including during my time as the General Manager of Steve Industrial Nigeria Limited, your multi-billion naira organisation. It is a richly deserved honour.”

Kosoko further praised Otunba Ajose as a pathfinder and a visionary, someone who consistently inspires confidence in others and never allows obstacles to stand in his way. “It is noteworthy to say that you have always been a pathfinder—one who believes that there is always a way, even when others see only barriers. Your drive, courage, and unshakable belief in possibilities have always set you apart,” he added.

The celebrated actor also took a moment to appreciate the Ooni of Ife, describing the monarch’s recognition of Otunba Ajose as a testament to the Ooni’s wisdom and deep understanding of leadership and service.

“I sincerely thank His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, for finding this iconic and inspiring figure worthy of such an exalted honour. It is a recognition that reflects your contributions to humanity and the cultural space,” Kosoko noted.

He prayed that the new chieftaincy title would mark a new and glorious chapter in Otunba Ajose’s illustrious life and career.

“May this title open doors to greater achievements, deeper fulfillment, and more impactful service to the community and to the Yoruba nation. You truly embody the strength and resilience that Kiniun Onile represents,” Kosoko prayed.

Prince Jide Kosoko concluded his message with heartfelt congratulations, describing Otunba Steve Ajose as a man whose influence and integrity continue to inspire generations.

“Congratulations once again, my dear friend and brother. You have made us proud. May this honour usher in even brighter days ahead,” he said.
