Relationships can be very unpredictable when one considers what happened between a married man, John Nwajuba and a 26-year old lady, Isioma Alagu, whom he promised to get married to but later dumped and got married to another woman in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the man, Nwajuba, having gotten married to another woman, still went ahead to continue to date his jilted and embittered lover, Isioma. She, having realised the situation, hatched a plan, stole his ATM card and swindled him to the tune of over N800,000 as a form of revenge for dumping her.

The incident happened at Kingston Jo Bar located at Ire Akari Estate, Isolo area of Lagos, where Nwajuba took Isioma for a secret romance session after he had already got married to another woman.

According to Police sources, the man, Nwajuba, met Isioma in Lagos and promised to get married to her and they both agreed to get married because of their intimacy as lovers.

However, the whole long journey came to an end when Nwajuba went to his village to inform his family that he was ready to get married to Isioma, but his family insisted that he will not marry her. And if he was ready to get married, then they will arrange a woman he would get married to from their place.

He eventually dumped Isioma and went ahead to get married to another woman in his village as directed by his family and brought the new wife to Lagos but continued his amorous relationship with Isioma without his wife’s knowledge.

But the whole thing got exposed on the day the incident happened, Nwajuba took Isioma to the bar and after their secret romance, she stole his Fidelity ATM card and withdrew about N834,000 before Nwajuba discovered that she was the person that stole his ATM.

He reported the matter to the Police at Ejigbo Division. The lady, Isioma, was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her conduct.

During interrogation, Isioma admitted that she withdrew the money from his account with his ATM to compensate herself after he had dated, promised to get married to her but later dumped her. She reportedly told the Police that she suffered shock and had not recovered from the trauma after she was jilted by Nwajuba.

The Police however, found her culpable and asked her to refund the money or she will be charged for the criminal offence but she still refused to refund the money. Consequently, she was charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for stealing the ATM card and illegally withdrawing the money

When she was arraigned, she pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Benedict Aigbokhan, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

But there was twist over the matter after Nwajuba’s wife got to know and insisted that Isioma should be allowed to go because it was her husband that caused the whole problem having dumped her and still went into secret relationship with her.

Hence, the complainant, Nwajuba, informed the Court that he had intention to resolve the matter out of the Court because the defendant was his former lover before he got married to another woman.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A Ariyo, granted Isioma bail and adjourned the matter till 6th June, 2022, for the report of the settlement of the matter from both parties.

However, the defendant, Isioma, was remanded in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
