Jilted Man, 29, Docked For Posting Nude  Picture Of Estranged Lover On Facebook

A jilted 29-year old man, Shedrack Kingsley Egu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly beating and posting his estranged lover’s nude pictures on Facebook after dumping him. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in November,2024 at Lowa Estate, Ikorodu area of Lagos.

 

According to the Police, the suspect had a disagreement with the victim who told him that she was no longer interested in the relationship, which did not go down well with him. He was alleged to have beaten her mercilessly, siezed his SIM card and ATM and posted her nude pictures on the social media.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at Ilupeju DIVISION. Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained the suspect at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

 

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

 

The charges read:

COUNT I:”That you,  Shedrack Kingsley Egu  ‘M’ sometimes in November, 2024 at No. 7, Lowa Estate, Ikorodu Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully assault your ex- girlfriend by beating and inflicting bruises on her face and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 173 of criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT II:”That you, Shedrack Kingsley Egu on same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District did unlawfully assault your ex-girlfriend  by forcefully seizing her Sim card and ATM card and posted her naked picture on Facebook and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 170 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

He pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
