A jilted 35-year old man, Babalola Timothy, has been arrested in Osun State for allegedly using love charms on a 35-year old married woman, keeping her in captivity for several days and engaging her in sex romp.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ile-Ife area of the State where the victim, who is married, angered the suspect, Timothy, by refusing his love advances and he then used the charms to trap her. Before she regained her senses, the suspect had engaged her in rounds of sex.
Thus, she went and reported to the Western Nigeria Security Network, code named Amotekun Corps in Osun State, who arrested Timothy and detained him for the alleged dastardly act.
This was disclosed by the Commander of Amotekun Corps in the State, Brig.-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, who stated that the suspect was arrested after the woman reported the matter to Amotekun operatives in Ile-Ife, after the suspect dropped her off.
“Amotekun operatives arrested one Timothy, from Modakeke, over the abduction of a 35-year old married woman, using a magic ring. The suspect asked her out when the victim approached him in September 2023 to help sell her palm oil, because he sells palm oil.
She refused his advances and later, he called her to tell her that he will help her sell her palm oil. When she visited him, he hypnotised her, changed the SIM card in her mobile phone, locked her in a room where he fed her and randomly had sex with her,” Adewinmbi said.
The Amotekun boss stated that the suspect, on 29tth March, 2024, later released his victim from the room and dropped her off at the Obafemi Awolowo University Campus Area in Ile-Ife, when he got tired of her.
He said the suspect was later trailed to his hideout in Sekona, where he was arrested.
Adewinmbi added that when interrogated, the suspect confessed to the crime, saying he got the charms he used on his victim from one “Alfa Ilorin” an herbalist in Sekona. The commander also said the suspect had been transferred to the Director of State Security Service (DSS) for subsequent investigation and prosecution.
The suspect may likely be charged for statutory rape under the Criminal Laws of the State for the alleged offence but that will be after the conclusion of investigations.
