A 19-year old jilted young man, Joseph Shittu, has landed in trouble in Ondo State for allegedly uploading his estranged lover’s nude video on social media, which caused the victim emotional trauma.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Shittu has been arrested and charged before an Akure Magistrate Court sitting at Oke-Eda, the Ondo State capital, for allegedly uploading his ex-girlfriend’s nude video on social media

Shittu was alleged to have posted the explicit clip on three of the victim’s institutional platforms, an act said to have caused emotional and psychological trauma to the victim.

The matter was reported to the Police and he was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

He was found culpable after thorough interrogation and charged before the Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The prosecutor, Augustine Omhenimhen, told the Court that the incident happened on 25th August, 2025, after the victim, identified as Otun Elizabeth Iremide, ended her relationship with Shittu.

The prosecutor, Omhenimhen, told the court that the defendant had threatened to post the video if she dared break up with him and the nude video was eventually uploaded on the social media.

However, Shittu’s counsel, A.I. Shuaibu, entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. He argued that his client was not caught in the act of posting the video and was merely being suspected because of his past relationship with the victim. The defense counsel also prayed the court to grant the defendant bail.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty when questioned by the Presiding Magistrate, Taiwo Lebi, for uploading the video but declined to disclose the identity of the person he claimed did it.

The Court ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center and adjourned the matter till 14th October, 2025, for hearing.
