Kano Is Home Of Football In Nigeria – Inuwa
FRANCIS ACHI/Abuja.
Inuwa Sharu Ahlan , the Chairman of Kano State Football Association has commended the management of Kano Pillars for the large turnout of their fans at the Sani Abacha Stadium in the match day 11 of the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL between Kano Pillars and Enyimba of Aba, which ended 3-1 in favour of the host team.
The football administrator said that the passion of football fans in Kano over the years has really confirmed that the state is the home of football in Nigeria and he hopes that other football associations in the federation will emulate the football fans in Kano by coming out to cheer their teams whenever there is a football game.
“I want to commend the management of Kano Pillars and the entire football family in Kano for their show of love and passion by coming out in their larger numbers to support the darling team of the state( Pillars) . The organisation of the game was awesome and we thank God for everything” Inuwa said.
Adding further that “I want other state football associations to work in solid partnership with premier team in their association and mobilise fans to come and cheer the team whenever there is a league match in the state. Football game without large numbers of fans makes the game to be dull and without excitements.”
Inuwa, a board member of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF further affirmed that the standard of the league and officiating has really improved in the country, but stressed that there is a need for more improvement from the referees.
“The league is improving. The referees are trying, although there is still need for them to improve more in their officiating, but I am really happy that the fans in Kano state are making the beautiful game a beauty to behold with their total support for Kano Pillars, ” he concluded.
