KidsCook Showdown Debuts in Nigeria Nov. 20

KidsCook Showdown, a creative and educational cooking competition designed to foster leadership, teamwork, and responsibility among children, will debut on November 20, 2025.
The maiden edition will feature 10 pupils aged 6 to 8 from five selected schools across Magodo and Omole, Unique Group of Schools, Distinct Star Schools, Olivefields, Holiness School, and Leso Rond Schools, as they compete in a fun, high-energy culinary challenge that combines learning, creativity, and collaboration.
Under the guidance of professional chefs, participants will work in teams and be evaluated on teamwork, confidence, time management, communication, and presentation skills.
The competition aims to encourage children to take an active interest in cooking while building essential life skills that extend beyond the kitchen.
Speaking on the initiative, Enitan Tanimowo, Director of Dominion Consultancy Concepts, described KidsCook Showdown as a platform to nurture children who might otherwise miss out on household tasks, helping them develop responsibility and a love for meal preparation from an early age.
“Our goal is to inspire children to see cooking not just as a chore, but as a fun and creative way to express themselves, learn discipline, and build confidence,” Tanimowo said. “The KidsCook Showdown aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3 and SDG 4) by promoting good health, well-being, and quality education through practical, hands-on learning.”
She added that the event will also foster family bonding, mentorship, and social learning, as parents, teachers, and professionals engage with the children in an atmosphere of encouragement and discovery.
“At Dominion Consultancy Concepts, we believe social responsibility starts with empowering the next generation,” she continued. “KidsCook Showdown gives children an opportunity to develop leadership, creativity, and accountability in a fun, inspiring environment, helping shape well-rounded individuals for the future.”
The event is proudly supported by Integrated Indigo Limited, TVC News, The Cable and FrieslandCampina, whose partnership reinforces the vision of promoting creativity, teamwork, and youth development through impactful community engagement.
