Kogi Sesame Association Visits AFAN Boss, MD Agric Development Project

As part of his effort to drive the grow of sesame in Kogi State, Chairman of Nigerian Sesame Association, Kogi State Chapter, Alhaji Suleima Damisa led members of the association on visits to two important stakeholders in the state for familiarisation. purpose.
On Tuesday, the association paid courtesy call on the Chairman of All Famers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kogi State, Alhaji Salihu Adobanyi.
Alhaji Suleiman and his team were well received by the Chairman of Kogi AFAN who enjoyed them to ensure that the association should take Kogi State to one of the leading sesame producing states in Nigeria.
After the visit to AFAN chairman, Alhaji Suleiman also led his association’s members on another courtesy visit to the Managing Director, Kogi Agricultural Development Project, Prince Salim Bello.
At the Prince Bello’s office, the Kogi Sesame Association presented a list of request which included provision of farming implements for members of the association, tractors to ease hand weeding, tilling and fertilisers.
“We seek assistance from Kogi Agricultural Development Project to assist us with funds from financial bodies because most of our farmers are illiterate women, but they have organised themselves into clustered groups.
“We also want the government to give us subsidies where the uptakers for our produces are not forthcoming to avoid too much loss.
“And more importantly, we requested for post harvest facilities such as warehousing so that we can conveniently store our produces after harvest,” Alhaji Suleiman told P.M. EXPRESS after the visit.
