Lady, 24, Docked For Using Spoon To Pierce Female Rival’s Eye During Public Brawl

A 24-year old lady, Agnes Oluwatoyin, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly using a spoon to pierce her rival, Esther Adepelumi’s eye during a public brawl. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the victim’s right eye was badly damaged during the attack to the extent that she cannot see again with the eye.

 

The incident happened at Omoyemi Adesooga Close, Ikeja area of Lagos, where they reside.

 

According to the Police, Agnes had a disagreement with the victim, Esther, over an undisclosed matter. They had exchange of words and in the process,  Agnes went inside her house, brought the spoon and used it to inflict injury on the victim’s eye.

 

She was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where the Doctor confirmed that the eye has been completely damaged and she cannot use it to see again.

 

The alleged assault was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division and Agnes was arrested and consequently charged before Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.

 

The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned till 25th May, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
