Lady, 25, Jumps From 2 Storey Building After Escape From Police Cell

A 25-year old lady, Feelings Samuel, has been arrested in Lagos State for jumping from a two storey building after she was previously arrested for burglary and she escaped from the Police cell at Ago Division through ceiling.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the incident happened at Alhaji Mustapha Street, Ago Palace Way, Okota, where the Police went to rearrest her after she escaped from the cell at night.
The suspect was said to have broken into the apartment of one Chidinma Nwankwo and Bobo Ekene, where she allegedly stole their properties including phones worth over N1.5m, she was caught and handed over to the Police for prosecution.
However, while she was detained at the Police cell, she climbed into the ceiling at night and escaped through the Administrative Department at the station.
The Police later discovered that she had escaped and went to rearrest her. While trying to effect her arrest, she reportedly jumped from the two storey building in order to escape but she was caught. She was then charged before the Court for the alleged offence.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector M. Solomon, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.I. Williams, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till 24th August, 2022, for mention while she was remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
