Lady, 26, Arraigned For Stealing Madam’s N5m Through Phone Transactions

A 26-year old lady, Olabisi Makanjuola, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing N5m from another lady, Ekene Enemuo, through phone transactions. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened between September, 2024 to 17th May, 2025, before she was eventually caught.

 

According to the Police, the suspect was secretly stealing the complainant’s money and was transferring it into her bank accounts.

 

However, the whole thing leaked after the complainant discovered and reported to the Police at Area F Command, Ikeja. The Police operatives moved into action, arrested the suspect and detained her at the Command for interrogation over her alleged conduct.

 

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

COUNT I: “That you, OLABISI MAKANJUOLA ‘F’ and others now at large sometime from the month of September, 2024 to Thursday 17th May. 2025, conspired with others now at large to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT II:”That you, OLABISI MAKANJUOLA ‘F’ and others now at large on the same date, time and place at the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal cash sum of N5,062,000.00 (Five Million, Sixty-Two Thousand Naira) only through your Access Bank Account Number: 1488227213 and your Stanbic IBTC Bank Account Number: 0058672164, property of one EKENE ENEMUOH ‘F’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

However, she pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Ehimua Evelyn, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. M.A. Adegbaye, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
