Lady, 26, Burgles Shop & Carts Away N8.5m Electrical Parts At Alaba Market

A 26-year old lady, Precious Okechukwu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly burgling a shop and carting away electrical parts worth N8.5m at Alaba International Market, Ojo area of the State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Precious Okechukwu, has been arraigned in Court alongside her accomplice,  Ogbonna Ayogu, 22, who bought the items from her before she was caught.
The incident happened at Shop D415, Alaba International Market, which belonged to one Chukwuma Okeke.
The Police operatives however, did not disclose how the suspect, Precoius, managed to burgle the shop and carted away the items worth the said amount of money despite the fact that there were security guards in the market.
According to Police sources, the complainant, Mr. Okeke, closed his shop and returned home but when he came to the shop the following day, he discovered that his shop was burgled and the items were stolen.
The matter was reported to the Police operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad in Ikeja, Lagos, who moved into action. Their action paid off as the prime suspect, Precious Okechukwu, was arrested and detained at the Command for interrogation over the missing items.
During interrogation, she reportedly confessed and mentioned Ayogu as the buyer of the items and he was eventually arrested too and detained at the Command, where he also confessed to have bought the items worth the said amount.
The Police found them culpable and consequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
They pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned.
The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K Kubeinje, granted them bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre, Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
