Lady, 29, Arrested For Stealing N50m Assorted Jewelries At Trade Fair Complex

A 29-year old lady, Ayobami Glory, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing assorted jewelries worth N50m belonging to Dechisan Mega Plaza, represented by one Uchenna Ochisi, at Trade Fair Complex. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 9th April, 2025, at Trade Fair Market area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect conspired with others now at large and stole the items without the knowledge of the management until an internal audit was conducted and the missing items were discovered.
The matter was reported to the Commissioner of Police Special Squad at the State Command, Ikeja. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained her at the Command for interrogation over the missing items.
The Police found her culpable after rounds of interrogation and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Ayobami Glory and others still at large, on the 9th day of April, 2025 at about 1821hrs, at Trade Fair Market area of Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: Stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Ayobami Glory ‘f and others at large, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did steal assorted jewelries valued Fifty million Naira (N50,000,000.00), property of Dechisan Mega Plaza, represented by one Uchenna Ochisi ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 281(1) and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
