Lady, 32, Blows Female Police Inspector’s Nose To Evade Arrest

A 32-year old Lady, Habibat Owolewa, has displayed her boxing prowess in Lagos State by punching a female Police Inspector’s nose and inflicting serious injury on her while attempting to evade arrest over altercation with her boss. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ikosi Ketu area of Lagos, where Habibat was employed by her boss, Elizabeth Oluwatoyin and they had disagreement over an undisclosed matter.
She has been arrested by the Police operatives from Alapere Division.
The Police charged Owolewa, who resides in Ikorodu area of Lagos, before an Ogudu Chief Magistrates’ Court, with four-count charge of assault, open injury, damage and breach of peace.
She pleaded not guilty to charges when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Donjor Perezi, told the Court that the defendant committed the offence on 19th August, 2022, at Shop A4, Omega Plaza, Ikosi Ketu area of Lagos State, where she had an altercation with her boss, who involved the Police over the matter.
He alleged that Owolewa punched a Police officer Inspector Ukamaka Okwa, who came to arrest her on the face and  inflicted an open injury on Okwa’s nose with a headbutt to the bridge of her nose when she was trying to resist an arrest.
Perezi said that the defendant also damaged the officer’s clothes with blood stains, which was valued at N40,000 and conducted herself in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace by scattering items in Oluwatoyin’s shop.
The Police alleged that the offence, she committed contravened the provisions of Sections 173, 174, 350 and 168 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M. O. Tanimola, admitted the defendant on bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
The matter was adjourned till 12th October, 2022, for mention while the defendant will be in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
