Lady Dies Inside Hotel Room During Night Out With Lover

A hotel owner, Oluyemi Adeyemi, has been arrested by Police operatives from State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, over the death of a lady in a hotel room during a night out.

P.M EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the popular Holly Dan Hotel located at Unity Street, Kola area of Meiran, Lagos.

It was gathered that the deceased lodged in the hotel with an unidentified person but in the morning she was found dead as the staff went to clean the room.
The matter was reported to the Police at Meiran Division. The lady’s corpse was retrieved and deposited  at the mortuary for autopsy test to know what might have actually killed her.

During preliminary investigation, the Police alleged that it was Adeyemi that caused her death. They arrested him and then transferred the case to the SCIID for further investigation.
He was found culpable and charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for murder which attracts several years of imprisonment or life sentence.

The Court did not take his plea after the Prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.Hence, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in a Correctional Centre without an option of bail and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice while the defendant, Adeyemi, will be in custody till the Court determines if he will be transferred to the High Court for trial.
