In a remarkable debut appearance in the Lagos State FA Cup, Asisat Oshoala Academy (AOA) left an indelible mark with a commanding 5-1 victory over Dreamstars Ladies.

From the opening whistle, AOA displayed their intent to assert themselves in the competition. Adebisi Amina ignited the scoring frenzy midway through the first half, setting the stage for what would be a dominant performance by the academy side.

Janet Akekomorowei quickly followed suit, doubling AOA’s lead just 10 minutes later with a clinical finish. Despite Dreamstars Ladies managing to pull one back before halftime, AOA remained undeterred, heading into the break with a 2-1 lead.

The second half saw AOA emerge with renewed vigour, determined to secure their place in the next stage of the competition. Janet Akekomorowei once again showcased her prowess, extending AOA’s lead with another well-taken goal.

As the game progressed, Amina added to AOA’s tally with a rebounded effort, further solidifying their dominance on the field. However, it was Janet Akekomorowei who stole the spotlight, completing her hat trick with a sublime finish to seal the victory.

This impressive win not only sent AOA through to the next stage of the competition but also served as a testament to the academy’s burgeoning talent and determination to succeed. As they navigate their debut campaign in the Lagos State FA Cup, AOA has firmly established themselves as contenders to watch.
