Lagos First Lady, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Hosts NDLEA Commander & Management Team

The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr (Mrs) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, today hosted the State Commander NDLEA Lagos State Command, Barr. Callys Alumona (CN) and some of his Management team on a one day advocacy visit and sensitization of some critical stakeholders in the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA).

The event took place at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Alausa, Ikeja.

In attendance were the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Hamzat, some selected Permanent Secretaties of Lagos State Government, the wife of the Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Mrs. Alabi, the representatives of market women, Medical practitioners, Non Governmental Organisations, Principals of some selected schools, members of some Education Districts in Lagos and some media organisations.

The programme was a successful one as ways to tackle this menace call illicit drugs were discussed and the First Lady assured all present that this is just the beginning, that more awareness, seminars, campaign and all that it will take to minimize the impact of illicit drug trafficking and abuse in Lagos in particular and Nigeria in general will be explored.

At the end of the event, the First Lady and the wife of the Deputy Governor were inducted by decorating them with the lapel of WADA as Ambassadors to the crusade.
