Lagos Governor, Sanwo-Olu Nominated For Nigeria Pitch Awards
The passionate support the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been given to sports development in the state, is receiving national attention and this can be connected to the governor’s nomination for one of the categories of awards of the Nigeria Pitch Awards.

EXPRESS reports that the Nigeria Pitch Awards are awards presented to Nigerian former and present sports people, administrators and journalists in recognition of their positive contributions to sports in Nigeria, initiated by Matchmakers Consult International Limited and approved by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
While announcing the nominees for the 11th Nigeria Pitch Awards during a ceremony held at the BON Hotel, Ikeja in Lagos recently, the Director of Communications of the NFF, Mr Ademola Olajire said Governor Sanwo-Olu topped the nominees in the Football Friendly Governor of the Year category alongside the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno and former Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki.
The College of Voters, which includes sports editors, correspondents, and reporters nationwide, unanimously decided to nominate the sports-loving Governor of Lagos State for this prestigious award.
Also gaining recognition and nomination in the Nigeria Pitch Awards is the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena, Onikan, Lagos, which has been nominated for the Football Pitch Award. Other nominees in this award category are Remo Stars Stadium in Remo, Ogun State and Goodwill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
