Lagos LG Poll: Trouble Looms In Ifelodun LCDA, As APC Members Accuse Chairman Of Favouring One Aspirant
The Lagos State local government elections scheduled for July, and with the primaries for the All progressive Congress (APC) which will hold later in May, has continued to generate heat and political shenanigans.
The alleged biased disposition of the party caretaker committee chairman in Ifelodun LCDA to the candidacy of one of the aspirants, Dr.Oyedun Adeleye, which is truly against the principles of fairness and respect for the party rules and regulations has given party faithful serious concerns and they want the leadership of the party at the state level to wade into this.
A genuinely concerned party member, Alhaji Tiamiyu Razak lamented the open declaration of support for Dr. Leye by Alhaji Atoyebi Sulyman, the APC caretaker committee chairman.
Razak described it bad and undemocratic. Adding that it can destroy the peaceful and progressive strides of the party, as well as, tear the party apart.
“The open declaration of support for Leye by Atoyebi Sulyman is not only in bad taste, it is shameful and undemocratic,” Razak lamented.
He went ahead to advise APC Lagos state chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun to caution Atoyebi, in order not to put the party leadership to disrepute.
“APC Lagos state chairman should as a matter of urgency and importance, call Atoyebi to order. This party is bigger than an individual. All aspirants deserve to be given fair and equal opportunity to vie for the party’s ticket for the coming local government elections,” Razak advised.
