Lagos Pastor Arrested Over Visa Scam

Pastor Olusegun and his accomplice, Patience in court
Pastor Akingbohungbe Olusegun of the Lord’s Foundation Ministry, Idimu, Lagos has landed in trouble over his alleged involvement in visa scam in Lagos Nigeria.
He was arrested with his female accomplice, Patience Michael and charged before a Lagos court where they were remanded in prison custody.
The suspects allegedly obtained N450,000 from the victim, Jimoh Temitope under the false pretence of procuring him a Dubai, UAE visa which later turned out to be a scam.
According to police, after obtaining the money, they went and forged fake traveling document and gave it to the victim, Temitope to travel.
The scam was discovered when at the airport the victim was turned back which marked the end of his traveling plans.
The matter was reported to the police and the suspects were arrested and charged to court.
When our correspondent contacted the suspects, they denied that the visa was fake as claimed by the victim and the police.
They explained that the only thing wrong with the visa was an error on the date of birth which can be corrected but they were not given time to do so.
They were charged with conspiracy, stealing and forgery before Isolo Magistrate’s court and they pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Shonubi granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 24 November for definite trial.
