Lagos State Govt Partners Effect Best Perfect Solution On Family Reality TV

The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has announced its partnership with Effect Best Perfect Solution Limited, EBPS, a content development company and producers of The Lagos Family Reality Show to deliver the educative cum entertaining family reality television show.

The Reality Show will have a total of 36 families resident in Lagos State and representing the 36 States of the federation, slug it out over a period of 13 weeks in order to determine the star-prize winner of the N20 Million cash prize, an SUV, and N30 Million Naira to execute community projects in their Local Government Area of residence.

Hon. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, the Honourable Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, who made the disclosure at the Press Conference and Logo Unveiling of The Lagos Family Reality Show, held in Lagos on Wednesday 30th June, 2021, said that the family reality TV show is centered around inspiring the spirit of unity and noble values amongst Lagosians.

The event, which started with the National Anthem rendered by award winning music director and voice coach, Mr. Segun Obe, was moderated by renowned celebrity and reality show veteran, Mr. Benneth Ogbeiwi.

To set things rolling, Temitope Jemerigbe, hinted the ladies and gentlemen of the print and electronic media that the contents of the reality show revolves around celebrating the large hearted nature of the average Lagosian while projecting the state values.

The Lagos State Honourable Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Pharm. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, in her short speech, encouraged the ladies and gentlemen of the Press to continue to speak with positivity in the face of daunting challenges while magnifying right values.

She said, “Lagos State, like Nigeria, is home to all ethnic groups, who have lived harmoniously together for centuries despite their diverse ways of life. Unfortunately, there has been a recent clamour for disintegration from various quarters as if that is an answer to our national issues. As a model for national unity and a testimony that Nigerians are better together, Lagos State created The Lagos Family Reality Show to reignite our national unity, elicit a sense of pride and grow the knowledge about the country, states, our culture, history and values.”

“The Lagos Family Reality Show is a state-wide competition amongst families representing each State of the federation living in Lagos. These competing families will engage in various tasks that will revolve around advancing our national and state history, values and culture. The eventual winning family, in addition to the various mouth watering prizes, will also be presented as the Celebrity Family of the year and will be opportune to have dinner with the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ” Hon. Akinbile-Yussuf said.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of EBPS Limited and the Producer of the reality TV show, Adeleke Ajayi, in his submission, noted that The Lagos Family Reality Show is a unique platform that leverages on our unifying factors as Lagosians and creates a paradigm shift that reignites our pride as Nigerians, while positing that unity is the only way forward.

“In line with our corporate mission of creating a significant change in the state such that everyone backs one and one backs, we constantly seek to create social platforms and activities, which project our state values, history, state identity in forging greater unity amongst Lagosians. The Lagos Family Reality Show one of such platforms to achieve this purpose,” Ajayi said.

He explained that the show will bring together the 36 families under one roof for the five-level competition and there will be evictions at the end of every level based on the performances of each and every competing family in the various tasks within that level.

“Competing families will be given various tasks to perform at every level of the competition and at the end of every level, the candidates with the least points would be evicted, starting from Week 6 through Week 10. The beauty of the show is that we have over N100 Million Naira worth of prizes to be files out to participants of the reality show and it has been structured in such a way that every competing family gas a reward irrespective of the level of eviction in the multiple of N250, 000.00. So, while some families will go home with N250,000.00, some will go with as much as five million Naira, the Producer said.

Mr. Ajayi informed that the reality show has rare brand-building opportunities for corporate bodies and family-oriented brands. He called on them to avail themselves of this opportunity by sponsoring the show.

“The show, which will have a national broadcast reach, with stations like LTV, NTA,  AIT, TVC, Core TV and various online channels, presents a veritable platform for brands to connect with their target online and generate sales of products by creatively leveraging the number of participants and viewership  of the show. We have created various sponsorship categories for brands that want to come on board the show” he concluded.

Throwing more light on the family reality show, Mr. Yinka Oduniyi, the President of Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria, ITPAN, said that reality shows are key drivers in changing perceptions and narratives and The Lagos Family Reality Show will seek to celebrate the family unit, which is the core of the nation. 

He hinted that there will be call for auditions in the days ahead from the state to the regional level and participants must be families resident in Lagos as the in-house activities will showcase the attributes of the states harmoniously living in Lagos highlighting the things we share in common.
He said that the voting public, the judges and the academy will determine the fate of contestants at different stages of the reality show.

Highpoints of the event were the unveiling of the reality TV show logo and the question and answer session.

The ladies and gentlemen of the Press took turns to ask the brains behind the concept (Adeleke Ajayi, Yinka Oduniyi, Temitope Jemerigbe), the Judges (Yeni Kuti, Pastor Segun Lawal of the Spirit of David, Segun Obe, Ifeoma Fafunwa, Ige Modupe Kachi) and instructors (Yemi Disu, Chef Renee) deep rooted questions concerning the idea and how it will run in the coming days.

It was indeed a wonderful time at De Rembrandt Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, venue of the logo unveiling event.
