Lagos SWAN Promises Stronger Partnership With Nigeria Olympic Committee

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter (Lagos SWAN), have promised a stronger and cordial working relationship with the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), under the leadership of Engr. Habu Gumel.
The Chairman of Lagos SWAN, Debo Oshundun, said that the synergy between the two bodies have continued to grow stronger in recent times following the appointment of seven of its members into different Commissions of NOC.
Oshundun said the latest appointment which is the highest in the history of NOC is a pointer to the importance of sports writers as key stakeholders in sports developments and branding in Nigeria.
“We want to thank the NOC leadership for deeming members of the associations worthy of recognition. This will in no small way cement the ever growing partnership between NOC and Lagos SWAN towards a bigger sports sector in our country.”
He emphasized that “The short and long term goals of the body cannot be achieved easily without the cooperation of all relevant stakeholders , especially the Lagos Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria.”
The Lagos SWAN Chairman therefore urged members to see their various appointments as a call to service and humanity through their contributions in their various commissions.
Oluphemmy Adetula who is an Executive board member of the NOC and an ex-officio member of Lagos SWAN was appointed into the Liaison Commission, while the duo of Debo Oshundun and Patrick Ibeh got a mandate to serve in Sports For All Commission.
Others are Olu Amadasun (Sports and Environment), Dapo Sotuminu (Sports and Environment), Tony Nesianya (Sports and Environment) while Tony Ubani (former NOC PRO) got nominated into the OlypAfrica Development Committee.
