Lagos Wins Shooting Silver Medal In 10m Riffle Team Event

Team Lagos on Sunday got a silver medal in the shooting event in the final of the 10m women’s riffle team event.

The trio of Osarobo Suzi, Kalu Uzoamala and Oshodi Mojisola Oluwato with their total scores of 1496.2 settled for the silver medal of the event won by Delta State team which scored 1661.8 to win the gold medal, while Bayelsa scored 1494.2 to win the bronze medal.

Lagos State Shooting Association chief coach, Badmos Adeleke described the feat of his girls as exemplary because they really tried their best to get to where they are.

Adeleke, a former journalist turned shooting coach said that Lagos has some talented shooters who are good for the national camp as the All Africa Games is getting closer.

He commended the Lagos State Sports Commission and more importantly the Chairman of the state’s shooting association for their support to the shooters, even as he called on the authority to beef up the state’s team with modern Olympic champion guns.

According to Adeleke, who had won 3 gold, 3 silver and I bronze medals in three sports festivals while working as a journalist, Team Lagos presented shooters in the female riffle and male pistol team events as well as mixed doubles riffle event in the ongoing sports festival.
