Some youth organizations under the aegis of Lagos Democrats Movement are set to mobilize about 1 million youths in Lagos to deliver votes for the re-election of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in the coming 2023 General Election.

In a joint statement released on Monday and signed by Abdul Kabir Muhammed and Adebiyi Timileyin,
Director General and Secretary General, Lagos Democrats, respectively, the group said it has resolved to go all out and engage their contemporaries, especially the non-partisan youths, to ensure the continuity of a government with practical plans for the Youths’ Constituency in the State.

They described Governor Sanwo-Olu’s approach to governance as both democratic and technocratic, worthy of emulation by other leaders around the world.

“We, the youths in Lagos, have all agreed that Mr. Governor has performed wonderfully well, particularly in areas of engaging, empowering, employing and making the youths feel included in his administration,” the group stated.

“This is what inspired the initiative to activate a platform sorely to engage the non-partisan youths, especially a good number of our contemporaries who are not exposed to the dynamics of politics but are ready to learn and imbibe true political culture, pristine democratic principles as reflected by Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu,” it added.

Lagos Democrats Movement already has over 10,000 membership strength spread across various voluntary Community-based youths organisations and instituted Students’ bodies. They are set to embark on GetOutTheVote (GOTV Campaign), a vehicle they plan to use to deliver the expected 1 million votes for the reelection of Governor Sanwo-Olu.
