A tenant, Chukwuma Nosika, had a nasty experience in Lagos State for engaging his landlady, Ogunfowora Abimbola, in an argument over rent arrears payment  as she hired thugs, who battered him on her instruction.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the 48-year old landlady, Abimbola, got angry that the tenant argued with her over rent despite the fact that he was alleged to have been causing trouble in the house. She then hired hoodlums and ordered them to beat Nosika mercilessly and they injured him in the process.
The victim was rushed to an undisclosed hospital and the alleged assault was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. The landlady was arrested and detained at the station for her conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and assault under the Criminal Laws of the State.
However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor,  Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty before Court for the alleged offence.
However,  there was a twist in the matter when the complainant told the Court that he was no longer ready to pursue the matter because the defendant had apologized to him including their neighbours.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, consequently struck out the matter and released the landlady to go home.
