A landlord, Ajasa Adekunle and two others, Oyinboola Omotayo, 68 and Amos Akinola, 72, have landed in trouble after they alleged conspired, forged a Court judgment and then used it to eject a female tenant, Abdulazeez Awawu, from her apartment.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the three suspects had a matter before the Ogba Magistrates Court with the victim, Abdulazeez Awawu on a suit, with file number MIK/38/19/2021, over taking possession of the apartment she occupied.

While the matter was still in Court, they were said to have conspired, wrote terms of settlement on behalf of the Presiding Magistrates and went ahead to use it to eject the victim by locking up her apartment based on the fake judgment.

However, the matter was reported to the Police over suspicion that the matter was further adjourned but they claimed to have gotten the judgment over the matter.

The Police moved into action, investigated and discovered that the terms of the judgment they presented were fake and they were subsequently arrested for interrogation.

During interrogation, they reportedly claimed that it was a valid judgment from Court unknown to them that the Police had already investigated and had gotten the facts, which were shown to them as evidence and they reportedly confessed.

They were subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are found guilty before the Court.

They pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Bisi Ogunleye, had no objection to their being granted bail but asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate,  Mr. M.A. Adegbaye, granted them bail with sureties in like sum and ordered their remand in Correctional Centre pending when they will perfect their bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 16th June, 2022, for mention.
